What is World Of Women?
World of Women (WoW) is a Non-Fungible Token (NFT) collection of 10,000 unique art pieces. All the items depict women in various styles, backgrounds, and countless other variables that make for a truly diverse set of NFTs. As its name suggests, the project is centered around empowering women of all backgrounds around the world, while raising awareness of the potential gender inequalities and actively working towards balancing them out. Each World of Women NFT is registered on Ethereum following the ERC-721 token standard, which is the most popular among such digital art pieces. Holders of WoW NFTs are said to become integral parts of a global uplifting community, where progress, diversity, networking, and inclusion are among the core values.
How did World of Women begin?
World of Women was launched in the summer of 2021 by the artist behind the works, Yam Karkai, who reportedly intended to bring inclusivity for women to the NFT space through her art. Six months after the launch, the minimum value for one hovers around 7 ETH. At first, ownership came with various perks and benefits on top of the collectible utility, such as access to yearly galas for holders, monthly ArtDrops, exclusive rights to the underlying artwork and IP, exclusive raffles, and many more.
What’s next for World of Women?
The WoW team has set the bar high, as they have launched one of their second collection, titled World of Women Galaxy. The NFTs within this batch portray women discovering and creating new worlds while dealing with the challenges posed by the venture. According to the project’s official website, WoW Galaxy allows anyone interested to join the community easier than with the previous collection. Wow Galaxy also includes 8 unique Champions & Guardians which are handcrafted by Yam Karkai.
